5 star outstanding care. They treat your horse like their own. You cannot ask for a better group of people to care for your horse.

The Flying L Stable is a wonderful mix of family fun and serious training. Bret and the Gang are so friendly and helpful. I have learned so much. My baby Kirby loves it there. She came there severely underweight. She is happily eating and training and gaining muscle. Coming here was the best decision I have made regarding Kirby.

Bret is so knowledgeable about horses and very patient with my daughter, always putting safety first. We love the time we spend on his property and our daughter has learned so much in just her first two lessons! I love that Bret tailored his lessons to fit our goals for riding, and that we seem to see eye to eye. No drama. Learning what is important. And having fun.

Amazingly, Felicia found this excellent teacher all by herself...surfing the web! He is so patient, so creative and so very skilled !!!!

Absolutely amazing experience for me! I knew nothing about riding a horse and had a tremendous desire to learn. ( I should also add I was scared to death I wouldn't be able to do it!) my teacher, Bret Lambdin made me feel at ease, not afraid to make a mistake, and to just try and relax and have Fun! I learned I CAN do this with Bret and his guidance, PATIENCE and professional kind and caring manner......Flying L ROCKS!!!! Going for 2nd lesson next week. (and btw I am 63 yrs. young!

While discussing a client’s horse she put into words a perfect representation of my training philosophy.

“…. You have the patience of a saint, I kid you not.  I respect your approach.  It reminds me of a Taoist sentiment expressed by Confucius, who felt it was better to perfect oneself from the inside rather than find fault in things outside oneself.  This is a translation from the original Chinese dialect spoken 500 years B.C.  It sounds awkward to English ears, but still rings true:

"In the archer there is a resemblance to the mature person.  When he misses the mark, he turns and seeks the reason for his failure in himself."

I think this is the essence of 'natural horsemanship' - that instead of looking for faults in the animal or the tools, the gifted teacher goes back to the beginning and tries to figure out where the communication breakdown was, or where the horse got lost in its lessons, or whether the saddle is impeding movement, or how to create a better partnership, and so on.”
- S. Mason

Horses are not born with what humans perceive as bad habits, they are unintentionally taught to the horse by humans they interact with.

When we ask “Why won’t my horse soften to the bit, or yield his hindquarters, stop when I want him to, ect”, we are asking the wrong questions.

The question we need to be asking is “Where have I lacked the proper guidance and preparation for my horse to understand what I am asking”.
